Seth mumbled his thanks and dejectedly walked out of the academy. Once he was clear of the throng he released Flint again. There was a slightly awkward silence before Seth said "Well we certainly messed up there." The lizard pokemon and Seth slowly started giggling and ended up laughing audibly earning a couple of inquisitive looks from the closer members of the graduation crowd.
Once the laughter died down seth pulled out a coin and said "Heads we go through the forest, tails we go for a walk down the road."

"The forest it is then" Flint let out a cry of approval and sprinted towards the forest. "He'll never change"

[Yea not swimming the river, though the basic location info didn't mention that Eridanus is the only place to cross the river at a bridge (or however you get across). So yea continue towards Eridanus then]

[Yeah- there is a bridge later on the route- or you can cross via ferry at Eridanus.]

Seth: As you and Flint walk through the forest, you can hear the sounds of Pokemon in the forest. However, none of them seem to be visible from the path- you'll need to venture off the established route in order to find Pokemon to fight.

Randolf stares at the Gulpin, watching it destroy the local fauna. "Oh man, if I leave you here, you will just cause even more problems. I mean, look, you already hate so much leaves! Stell...I guess we need to either scare it away or capture it." the newly graduated trainer tells his pokemon, a sort of sadness coming over him. The Gulpin had done nothing wrong for now, but at the rate it was going it would only be a matter of time before some other poor pokemon's home was eaten.
"Stell, headbutt!" Randolf suddenly yells out, to which his Aron responds with a "Rrrooonnn!" as he charges forth, slamming the Gulpin with his head.

Flint looked to find the pokemon whose noises they were hearing. Eventually he looked to Seth who weighed up the options finally deciding whilst it may not be the brightest idea in the world to veer from the path a win might do them some good. He stepped into the overgrowth Flint ever at his side ambling towards the general direction of the noises.

Seth: As you travel through the forest, you soon come across a small clearing, where a quadrupedal Pokemon with green and cream fur is nibbling on some leaves. It appears to have a yellow flower on it's head, and it looks up every so often to check for danger.

Trying to remain silent Seth withdrew his pokedex and scanned, praying to whoever would listen that he could get a reading before it noticed him. Flint stood anxiously ready to pounce at a moments notice.

(I seem to have forgotten to add my attack stat to the roll, in which case it would have been 28 not 18. Sorry about that.)
Stell gets hit, though the damage seems to be minimum to the pokemon's steel hard body. "Stell, use harden! Protect yourself!" Randolf calls out, not wishing for his pokemon to be defeated so easily.

Seth: Your PokeDex *dings* as it finishes scanning. "Deerling. The Season Pokemon. Their coloring changes according to the season and can be slightly affected by the temperature and humidity as well." At the dinging noise, the Deerling looks up and directly at Seth.
