Well, I have changed my sheet over. I do not like the new, limited moves but I am happy to say that I like the improved sheet.

Personally, I think the 4 move limit makes this feel more like actual Pokémon, Which is a definite +. The more this feels like pokemon, the better. But what the hell, i Haven't finished a single Pokemon game in, like, ever

See, if I wanted it to be like the Pokemon video games, I would play...the pokemon video games. The previous way left you the option of having a Pikachu with Thundershock, Thunderbolt, and Thunder and not be gimped to high hell, similar to the anime. You certainly can't do that now.
The anime may have had flaws, sure. But if you ask me what is the heart of Pokemon, I wouldn't point my fingers at the games. I enjoy the games, but they are far too formulaic and structured for my tastes.

Well, it's your opinion, and i can respect it. I'm not like some annoying trolls that go "OMG THIS GUYS OPINION IS DIFFRENT THAN MINE, ILL JUST SAY THAT HE SUCK, THATLL TEACH EM", NO. I hate those people and they need to die.
About the anime though, The problem that i have is Ash's Complete and utter Idiocy. He has over 40-50 pokemon, and only 14 are fully evolved, excluding the pokemon that can't evolve. 14! No wonder he keeps losing the pokemon league every year.

Ash is taboo speak, really. He has somehow stumbled upon the fountain of youth, has his pikachu go against the Elite 4 of one region and then get it's arse handed to it by the first gym leader of the next region, and actually had the nerve to replace Brock who was (of my opinion) the best comedic relief of the entire show. But Mag is not talking about Ash. He is talking about the ability of pokemon knowing more than four moves, of the terrain effecting combat, and that moves that should have no effect in battle actually be quite useful (the first thing that comes to mind is teleport. In the anime, a abra uses it to dodge moves quite effectively). By limiting the number of moves, the versatility of pokemon in general goes down. Now if you let a pokemon learn a battle or center move, you are pretty much giving it a one-use move which limits it even further. Even worse is that at the very least you need to have a at-will(read: mostly weak) or two EoT moves; too many battle or center moves and your pokemon will be using struggle quite a bit. And of course this move(s) should be a damage move for the most optimal performance, for a status effecting move loses it's effectiveness in battle if it drags on too long.
Take my Aron as a example: I was planning on putting Iron Defense and perhaps another stat increase/decrease move along with some good damage (read: battle frequency) moves. Probably keep mud-slap around for a little while longer too. Looking at him now, I will have to either go full damage or just Iron defense. I will need to keep Headbutt, though I will probably replace Metal claw with a stronger Steel-type attack move. I may keep mud-slap for a very long time, at least until I can get my defense up to +9, then probably switch it out for a rock/steel-type EoT attack move. Instead of thinking in PTA terms, I am thinking in Pokemon Video Game terms. Seriously planning which moves I have to take instead of choosing ones that I think would fit my pokemon's theme the best. Like Mag said, if I wanted to think out and plan moves like this, I would play the a Pokemon Video game. We still have "eight" moves, so to speak. But unless one takes the Move Tutor Advanced Class or Covert is feeling very generous, then you are not very likely to acquire TMs in the early game. Even in mid game, you would be able to buy a few TMs.
But those are my complaints with the current move system. Perhaps the creator will change it back, perhaps not. Do I hope so? Yes. Will I press this issue anymore? Nope, shutting up about it. Tis my rant for the month.
